PORVORIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that his department has directed the higher secondary schools and colleges to increase seats by 10-15 per cent for Class XI including vocational and First-Year degree programmes for the current academic year.

This year due to the high percentage of passing in class 10, more students have seeked admission while the seats in the Arts, Science and Commerce, Vocational are fewer.
The Class X Board exam was cancelled in view of the ongoing COVID19 pandemic. Nearly 25,000 students were set to answer the exams.
A total of 1,329 students appeared for the mock tests which attribute to 80 per cent of the total students registered for the exam. Sattari reported the highest with 90 per cent attendance while Sanguem reported the least with 55 per cent approx.
