CANACONA: As part of World Environment Day celebration, NGO ‘We for Palolem’ has distributed over 250 saplings of plants including Insulin Plant, Cancer-Fruit, Black-Pepper Cripers to the people of Palolem in Canacona municipality.
In a house-to-house visit, We For Palolem president Gaspar Coutinho alongwith his executive committee members went around and distributed the saplings and also planted some saplings along with the house-occupants in some places of Palolem which is CMC’s Ward no.X.
“We have been holding these kinds of tree plantation programmes for the last 4 years and including the distribution and plantations of different types of 250 plants, we had overall contributed in distribution and plantations of over 1000 saplings”, informed Coutinho..
Some of the different type of plants/saplings distributed are Cinnamon, Elaichi, Mix-Spice, Cloves, Insulin Plant, Stevia plant , Supari, Pomegranate, Custard -Apple, Love-Apple, Cancer-Fruit, Guava, Egg-Fruit and Black-Pepper cripers amongst a few others.
