VAGATOR: In a major crackdown on the drug trade, the Anjuna Police on arrested an interstate drug peddler during a narcotics raid near the football ground at Chivar, Vagator.
The accused, identified as Ashish Murli Punjabi (39), a resident of Candolim, originally hailing from Mumbai, was found in possession of LSD papers worth Rs. 2.2 lakh.
The raid was the result of meticulous planning and coordination by the Anjuna Police team.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 71/2025 at Anjuna Police Station under Section 22(c) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
The accused has been remanded to five days of police custody.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Mapusa Ashish Shirodkar and Superintendent of Police (North) Akshat Kaushal, IPS.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on the narcotics trade and maintaining law and order in the region.
