Panjim: Rising young paddlers Ishaan Colaso, Aarish Shaikh, Kedar Nair, and Ashank Dalvi booked their berths in the semifinals of the Boys U11 category at the ongoing DBO–Edcon All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025, being held at Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim.
Top seed Ishaan Colaso continued his stellar form, blanking Shreysht Rane 3-0 in a dominant display. Second seed Aarish Shaikh too was in top gear, securing a clinical 3-0 win over Kris Silveira. Meanwhile, local favourite Kedar Nair battled hard to overcome Kavin Hasija 3-1 in a spirited contest, while Ponda’s Ashank Dalvi sealed the last semifinal spot with a commanding 3-0 triumph over Aveer Shah.
Earlier in the pre-quarterfinals, Ishaan defeated Vivaan Sasmal 3-0, Shreysht overcame Vivaan Rane 3-0, Aarish dispatched Ved Sanvordekar 3-0, and Kris got the better of Arjun Rane 3-0. In other matches, Kavin edged Prem Chopdekar 3-2, Kedar cruised past Shiv Chopdekar 3-0, Aveer downed Vardhan Verlekar 3-1, and Ashank powered through Nuroddin Shaikh 3-0 to complete the quarterfinal lineup.
In the Boys U15 category, the qualifying rounds concluded with Vivaan Prabhudesai, Bhaavan Srivastava, Adhiraj Badave, Kaushik Nair, Ashank Dalvi, Yuvaan Sanke, Noel Kurian, and Shreysht Rane progressing to the main draw.
The prestigious tournament a key selection event for the Nationals is being organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim, under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association (GTTA) and supported by Edcon Constructions.
Inaugural Ceremony: The tournament was inaugurated in the presence of players and dignitaries, including Brother James Marcus, Director of DBO Panjim; Edwin Menezes, Vice President, GTTA; Christopher Menezes, Secretary, GTTA; Alvito D’Silva, GTTA Executive Committee Member; and Coach Selvyn Godinho, among others.
