Panaji: The 7th edition of the Mangeshi All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament witnessed thrilling performances as top young paddlers, including Ishaan Colaso, Anaya Shukla, Ruhaan Shaikh, Tisha Shaikh, Chandan Caro, and Ishita Colaso, clinched titles across various age categories.
In the Boys U11 final, top seed Ishaan Colaso lived up to expectations with a 3-1 win over second seed Ashank Dalvi (11-7, 3-11, 11-7, 11-8). On the girls’ side, Anaya Shukla delivered a clinical performance, defeating Shaurya Dessai 3-0 (11-5, 11-2, 11-6) to capture the Girls U11 crown with sharp attacking play.
The Boys U13 title went to the in-form Ruhaan Shaikh, who cruised past Yug Prabhu in straight games (11-7, 11-8, 11-8), displaying a perfect blend of speed and precision. In a dramatic Girls U13 final, third seed Tisha Shaikh mounted a spectacular comeback from two games down to overcome Aarna Lotlikar 3-2 (6-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-7), exhibiting remarkable resilience and strategy.
In the Boys U15 final, national ranking gold medallist and top seed Chandan Caro proved too strong for Ruhaan Shaikh, sealing a commanding 3-0 victory (11-4, 11-2, 12-10). Chandan’s poise in the high-pressure third game underlined his pedigree.
Wrapping up the tournament, Ishita Colaso, also seeded first, claimed the Girls U15 title with a dominant 3-0 win over second seed Aarna Lotlikar (11-4, 11-8, 11-5), showcasing control, timing, and mature shot selection throughout.
The tournament, held at V.D. & S.V. Wagle High School in Mangeshi, was organised by the Mangirish Vidyadayini Samstha in collaboration with the Wagle High School Diamond Jubilee Celebration Committee, under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association. The event served as a key feature of the school’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, attracting top young talent from across the state.
