Fatorda: Goa’s rising table tennis stars delivered a thrilling display of grit and flair at the MCC All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025, organised by Margao Cricket Club under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association at the Multipurpose Stadium, Fatorda. The finals witnessed high-voltage rallies, nail-biting finishes, and clinical shot-making as six champions were crowned across different age categories.
In the U11 Boys final, top seed Ishaan Colaso held his nerve in a dramatic five-setter to edge past second seed Ashaank Dalvi 3-2 (8-11, 11-5, 11-7, 10-12, 11-9), while the U11 Girls title went to second seed Shaurya Dessai, who stunned top seed Anaya Shukla 3-0 (11-9, 11-4, 11-6) with aggressive forehand play. The U13 Boys crown was claimed by top seed Ruhaan Shaikh, who overcame a spirited fight from third seed Yug Prabhu 3-1 (11-7, 4-11, 11-7, 12-10). In the U13 Girls final, second seed Aarna Lotlikar battled through the contest of the day, outlasting third seed Tisha Shaikh 3-2 (11-9, 17-15, 6-11, 5-11, 11-8) in a pulsating encounter.
The U17 category too provided plenty of fireworks. Top seed Chandan Caro combined deft touch with powerful winners to defeat second seed Rishan Shaikh 3-1 (11-9, 11-4, 10-12, 11-8) in the Boys final, while the Girls U17 title went to top seed Ishita Colaso, who showed immense resilience to get past second seed Neeza Kamat 3-2 (6-11, 11-8, 11-9, 8-11, 11-5) in a fiercely contested clash.
With new champions emerging and familiar names reinforcing their dominance, the MCC Major Ranking TT 2025 underlined the depth of Goa’s young table tennis talent and the growing competitive spirit in the state.
