Fatorda: The 37th V.M. Salgaocar All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament witnessed thrilling performances as top talents battled it out at the Multipurpose Stadium in Fatorda. Organised by Cortalim Gymkhana under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association, the tournament has already produced several standout moments.
In the Under-11 Boys category, Ishaan Colaso and Ashank Dalvi stormed into the finals with commanding wins. Top seed Ishaan was in scintillating form, brushing aside Cladwyn Miranda 3-0 in the quarterfinals and repeating the straight-set dominance with a 3-0 win over Vardhan Verlekar in the semifinals.
Ashank Dalvi too looked solid throughout. After cruising past Vivaan Sasmal 3-0, he overcame a spirited challenge from Kedar Nair, winning the semifinal 3-1 to set up an exciting title clash with Ishaan.
Meanwhile, in the Under-15 Girls category, the semifinal line-up was confirmed after a series of one-sided yet competitive encounters. Ishita Colaso impressed with a straight-set (3-0) win over Tisha Shaikh, while Aayushi Amonkar kept up her excellent form, defeating Sachi Dessai 3-0.
Gianna George continued her impressive run, beating Kavyaa Khalap 3-0. The most closely contested match came between Aarna Lotlikar and Ira Nadkarni, with Aarna holding her nerve in a nail-biting 3-2 victory to secure the final semifinal berth.
With the competition heating up, fans can look forward to more action as the tournament progresses towards its finals.
