POST MORTEM FINDINGS….
- In the viral photo, the dead body is seen in a “face down” (lying on tummy) position, whereas, in the postmortem report, it is mentioned on page no. 2 that “PM Lividity was on the present back aspect of the body”. This means the dead body has remained in a “face-up” or “supine” (lying on back) position for quite some time, and later on, it was changed to “face down” or “prone” position, which was in viral photos. This also means that body was not floating in the water; if so, “PM Lividity would have come on the front aspect of a dead body and not on the back aspect of the body”. This is because the dead body floats in the face and head down position.
- Finally, it means that the dead body remained in the face-up position for the first few hours of death, and later on, it was changed to a new position seen in the viral photo. It means that the position of the dead body has been changed by an unknown person/s for at least more than one time, after the initial supine position of the dead body after death.
- In the postmortem report, it is also mentioned that “stomach was empty” which means there was no water in the stomach. Further, it mentions, “sand particles present beyond vocal cord”. This means my daughter Siddhi was not drowned in deep seawater. Otherwise, she would have swallowed water in her stomach because she did not know about swimming. On the other hand, sand has gone in vocal cords, which means she has drowned in seawater on the beach.
- Finally and most importantly, in the same postmortem report, three injuries are mentioned on the body in the form of bruises. It is mentioned that these bruises are superficial but are of thumb impression size (i.e. two bruises on the left leg were of 2×1 cms size and the one on the right forearm was of 2 x 1.5 cms size). (Postmortem doctor has specifically mentioned in the report that he has determined the depth of bruises by giving incisions all over these bruises so that he had made sure that these bruises were not deep.)

CALANGUTE: Over twenty days after her body was found, Siddhi Naik’s father officially lodged a complaint against unknown persons for murdering his daughter by forcibly drowning her in the sea.
In the complaint handed over Calangute PI Nolasco Raposo, Sandeep Naik said that his 19-year old daughter Siddhi, working in Porvorim, went missing from 11/8/2021 morning, a complaint in this regard was lodged at Mapusa police station.
“For the last time I had seen her alive was on 11/8/2021 morning when I dropped her at Green Park bus stand Mapusa, from where she was supposed to go for her work at Porvorim. However, her dead body was found on the next day early in the morning (on 12.8.2021 at 6.40 am), at Calangute beach, which was noticed by a lifeguard,” he wrote.
He says he had not seen the body on the beach but identified the same as his daughter after being shifted to GMC Morgue by the police.
“The moment I realized that my daughter is dead, I went in shock and hence could not raise any doubt of foul play against my daughter’s death, even though I notice that there were no clothes on the dead body except the panty,” he said.
He said the postmortem was conducted by a doctor on the dead body on the same day.
“After taking my signature on the report and police formalities were over, the dead body was handed over to me along with one “No Objection Certificate” to conduct final rites on the dead body. Hence, we did our last rites in our village crematorium,” he said.
He said that after postmortem, lady police told him that Siddhi died due to drowning.
She said she would give me a copy of the postmortem report later at the police station once investigations get over.
“Only after a week, I came across two viral photos of the dead body of my daughter in which dead body was seen lying on the beach sand without clothes. If I had seen these photos on the day of postmortem or actually seen the dead body on the scene, I would have surely lodged a complaint of foul play in the death of my daughter. Since I had not seen these photos earlier, I had not raised suspicion of foul play at the time of postmortem,” he said.
“On 1/9/2021 morning, I got a copy of the postmortem report from a police officer. I realized that whatever I saw in viral photos, the same was noted in the postmortem report. i.e. there were no clothes on her body other than panty, and her lips were bluish at the time of death,” he said.
He said that as told by a constable, the report mentioned the death was due to drowning.
“At the same time, after going through the report, I came to know about few more things related to the death of my daughter.
They are as under:-
(1) In the viral photo, the dead body is seen in a “face down” (lying on tummy) position, whereas, in the postmortem report, it is mentioned on page no.
Finally, it means that the dead body remained in the face-up position for the first few hours of death, and later on, it was changed to a new position seen in the viral photo. It means that the position of the dead body has been changed by an unknown person/s for at least more than one time, after the initial supine position of the dead body after death.
(2) In the postmortem report, it is also mentioned that “stomach was empty” which means there was no water in the stomach.
(3) Finally and most importantly, in the same postmortem report, three injuries are mentioned on the body in the form of bruises. It is mentioned that these bruises are superficial but are of thumb impression size (i.e. two bruises on the left leg were of 2×1 cms size and the one on the right forearm was of 2 x 1.5 cms size). (Postmortem doctor has specifically mentioned in the report that he has determined the depth of bruises by giving incisions all over these bruises so that he had made sure that these bruises were not deep.),” the complaint says.
Further, he says, Since they were not deep bruises, they are not caused by hard objects, wherein they are possible if someone forcibly holds other people tight by their hands.
“Also, they are not scratches, otherwise it would have said that they were caused to person accidentally by hitting the rocks while drowning in water,” he said.
“I admit that, I did not suspect any foul play in the death of my daughter, till the time I saw viral photos and then read postmortem report. Now, I have realized foul play in my daughter’s death, Miss Siddhi Naik. Therefore, I lodge a complaint at your police station that an unknown person/s has/have murdered my daughter, Miss Siddhi Naik, by forcibly downing her in shallow beach seawater, holding her in such a position to cover mouth and nostril till she dies of drowning in water,” he said.
