PANAJI: In January 2025, there were 22 fatal traffic accidents in Goa, resulting in 23 fatalities. Ten of these were in South Goa, while twelve were in North Goa.
Eleven riders, four pillion riders, one driver, four pedestrians, and two passengers were among the victims, according to the Transport Department. Another individual also died.
In addition to the fatalities, 30 persons were seriously injured in 28 significant incidents, 14 of which occurred in each district.
Additionally, the State reported 44 small accidents that resulted in 68 minor injuries (15 in North Goa and 29 in South Goa).
There were also 117 incidents that resulted in no injuries, 100 of which occurred in North Goa and 111 in South Goa.
