COLVA: Jai Dhawan (26), who worked as a distiller of the world-famous ‘Greater Than’ gin made in Goa drowned in the Colva Sea on Saturday night. This news is shocking for the wine industry circles.
The entrepreneur, who hails from Fatorda, had come to Colva on Saturday with other friends to celebrate his friend’s birthday. Later that night, he and two other friends went to the same beach between Colva and Sernabhatim.
Colva police said the time when Jai went down to the sea to take a bath, he was dragged into the water with the waves.
Soon after the incident, his two friends who were on shore immediately jumped into the water and pulled him out.
Immediately 108 ambulances were brought to the Hospicio. But doctors there pronounced him dead.
During the investigation the police has not suspected any foul play.
