CUNCOLIM: Cuncolim Police today has arrested a Jharkhand native on charges of theft of cash from “The Cape Goa”.
The accused has been identified as Shantu Das, who was working as a cashier in the restaurant styled “The Cape Goa”. Das had committed theft of Rs 1,09,500 from the cash counter and decamped with the same.
Further, during the investigation staff of Cuncolim Police Station, after developing the information received through sources and after hectic and meticulous efforts, constantly watched over the accused activities, which kept on changing his SIM card.
Police said it was confirmed that the accused is presently in Jharkhand.
Accordingly, a police team headed by PSI Anand Gaonkar was deputed to Jharkhand, and the accused was apprehended at Jamshedpur Jharkhand and brought to the Cuncolim police station.
Further investigation of the case is in progress under the supervision of PI Tukaram Chavan.
A team led by PI Tukaram Chavan, under the supervision and guidance of SDPO Margao Santosh Dessai and SP South Abhishek Dhania, monitored the investigation minutely.
The team consists of PSI Bharat Kharat, PSI Anand Gaonkar, Head Constable 4434 Manguesh Satardekar and PC 7727 Udit Pagui, all from Cuncolim Police Station.
