COLVA: Colva Police are conducting an inquiry after a Year-old man was declared dead at the District Hospital, Margao, on Monday evening.
At around 7:30 pm on 24 November 2025, police received a call from the hospital casualty informing that Birendra Soreng, aged 43 and a resident of Simdega, Jharkhand, had been brought in by a 108 ambulance from Varca.
During enquiries with his family and friends, it was revealed that Soreng was an alcoholic and was found lying along Varca Road before being shifted to the hospital. The doctor on duty declared him brought dead.
The body has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for medic-legal procedures.
Further investigation has been handed over to LPSI Raksha Naik of Colva Police Station.
