Panaji: Former Chief Justice Ferdino Rebello has called for a meeting of Goans concerned about the ongoing environmental and cultural challenges facing the state, described as the “devastation of our Bhangarachem Goem.” The gathering aims to bring together individuals who have supported his initiative through social media, personal outreach, or expressed a desire to contribute to a united People’s Movement to safeguard Goa.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 6 January 2026, at 3.30 pm at the Institute Menezes Braganza (Big Hall), Panaji. Justice Rebello said the agenda will include deliberations on a draft People’s Charter, with opportunities for participants to suggest amendments and collectively chart the future course of action for the movement.
In his message to supporters, Justice Rebello emphasized the need for collective action to protect Goa for future generations, describing the response from the Goan community as “heartwarming” and highlighting the role of media in amplifying the call for a united effort.
