Panaji: Retired Justice Sandeep Shinde has been selected for appointment as the Goa Lokayukta, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant announced on Tuesday. The Chief Minister said the government has initiated the formal process and will forward the recommendation to the High Court for its opinion.
“Retired Justice Sandeep Shinde has been selected for the post of Lokayukta. We are now sending the recommendation to the High Court. Once it comes back from the High Court, he will be appointed,” Dr Sawant said.
He added that after the completion of all statutory and administrative formalities, Justice Shinde will officially assume charge as the Lokayukta.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the government is following due process to ensure the appointment is in line with legal requirements.
