CANACONA: A 24-year-old man from Karnataka succumbed to injuries following a self-accident in Canacona on March 17, 2026.
Police said they received information from South Goa District Hospital, Margao, at around 2:19 pm that the injured rider, identified as Preetham Ranganath HA, a resident of Chitradurga, had died while undergoing treatment.
Enquiry revealed that the accident occurred earlier the same day at Rajbag, Canacona, when the deceased was riding a Hero Xpulse motorcycle with a pillion rider, travelling from Canacona towards Karwar. The rider reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the accident.
An inquest panchanama was conducted, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. The autopsy confirmed the cause of death as hemorrhage and shock due to severe injuries to the head, face, and spine caused by blunt force impact.
The body was later handed over to the family for final rites. Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Babu Dessai of Canacona Police Station.
