CANACONA: Canacona police have registered a case against a Karwar resident for rash and negligent driving that resulted in injuries to two women riders.
According to police reports, Rajesh Naik (58), a resident of Karwar, was driving a Volkswagen Polo when he allegedly drove in a rash and negligent manner on the wrong side near Hotel Matashree. In the process, he collided head-on with a Honda Activa scooter carrying two women.
The force of the impact threw both women onto the road, causing them injuries. They were immediately shifted to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Canacona for medical treatment.
Police have booked the driver under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, for driving without due care and endangering human life. Head Constable D’Ciptesh Gaonkar of Canacona Police Station is conducting further investigations into the incident.
