As per information, every ticket of the Kashmir Files will cost Rs 27 less after the tax cut, which will benefit only a few thousands who want to watch the movie but imagine if the Government decides to reduce the VAT on fuel, it will help a million people at least.
For the sake of argument, I agree for a while that people need to watch Kashmir Files to know about the genocide of the Hindus and blah…blah…
But CM, sir, what about the fuel price hike…Is it not the genocide of an ordinary man? Who is struggling to make two ends meet?
People are still recovering from the heavy losses they faced due to months of lockdowns in 2020 and 2021. Hundreds of businesses are yet to open as they do not have money to repair the money and infrastructure. People are still struggling to pay their children’s school fees in private schools.

Soon after the counting and announcement of Chief Ministers in four States, handsomely won by the party, the party, the BJP government has deftly lifted the moratorium on the increase in fuel prices.
In the last four days, the fuel prices have been increased thrice @80 paise each time, which is Rs 2.40 per liter increase.
While the Petrol and Diesel prices are at an all-time high, the State’s caretaker chief minister Dr. Pramod Sawant seems busy making the Bollywood flick “The Kashmir Files” Tax-free.
Well, I am not at all getting into the debate of whether Kashmir Files be made tax-free or not or even the events are true or fake, as I leave it to the expert brains to look into the matter.
But, my question is, if a caretaker CM can decide on making a film tax-free, why not give respite on fuel prices. Why does he have to wait till the swearing-in to make an announcement? Or will he?

The Kashmir Files is the past; the Government at the center needs to take necessary action to see that nothing of that sort ever happens in our country. We feel that the steps are being taken in that direction, and we have seen violent incidents have dropped.
Kashmir genocide was our past, but what about the present? How long would you be living in the past? We need to move on from this.
The CM was involved in a verbal duel with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on the Kashmir Files issue. Kejriwal has said what he felt was right and what he thinks about a movie or making it tax-free. Why does Sawant need to get into it?
Kejriwal’s contentions are not wrong when he says that the Director and Producer of the movie have amassed around Rs 200 cr so far on the movie, so why should Government lose the money at the cost of the exchequer?
As it is the movies today in Inox, PVR, and Adlabs multiplexes are affordable only to the people with a comfortable living, and the common man does not even think of it, and the Rs 27 benefit is not going to help that cause either.
Imagine a person taking tax benefits at Inox of Rs 27 but buys Popcorns and Coca Cola for Rs 700. Does it make sense?
The people of Goa have given a near-majority to BJP to rule them for the next five years, but the party or the CM should not mislead people’s mandate as a license to do whatever they want. Five years is a very short time, and it will pass very fast.
