PORVORIM: Saligao MLA Kedar Naik today raised concerns in the Goa Legislative Assembly over the April 3, 2026 cut-off date for accepting applications under the Majhe Ghar housing scheme, pointing out that many applicants are yet to receive required consent letters from Comunidades.
Raising the matter during Zero Hour, Naik stated that a large number of consent letters are still pending with the Comunidades and the Administrator of Comunidades, making it difficult for eligible applicants to complete their documentation before the deadline.
He urged the government to extend the cut-off date, stating that delays in obtaining consent letters are beyond the control of applicants and could deprive several families of the scheme’s benefits.
Responding to the concern, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured the House that the Majhe Ghar scheme will be extended for one more year, providing relief to applicants who are awaiting completion of formalities.
