PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Goa Unit President Adv Amit Palekar attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate.
He claimed that the action was meant to prevent Kejriwal from campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Palekar claimed that Kejriwal’s apprehension in a money laundering case related to excise policies is only a political retaliation and evidence that the BJP is afraid of losing the Lok Sabha elections.
“We will be approaching the Supreme Court against the arrest,” he stated.
The leader of the AAP asserted that Kejriwal was arrested to prevent him from going on election campaigning because the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP are afraid of him.
“They are afraid of losing the Lok Sabha elections, as evidenced by Kejriwal’s arrest. The country will support Kejriwal, and the BJP has begun to destroy the opposition, according to Palekar.
In connection with a money laundering case involving excise laws, the ED detained Kejriwal on Thursday night, according to officials in the nation’s capital.
“BJP is looking at a defeat and that is why they have arrested Arvind Kejriwal. This is undeclared dictatorship,” said Palekar.
Palekar also said that the Centre is scared of the popularity and influence of Kejriwal. On every issue, Kejriwal has exposed the lies, hypocrisy, and failures of the Centre.
“With the entire country now gravitating towards the INDIA bloc to save democracy in the country, the BJP’s abject fear of Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party has forced them to take the drastic step of arresting the (opposition) alliance’s tallest leader,” Palekar said.
Meanwhile, Adv Palekar said that the timing of the arrest was designed to silence the biggest voice of truth in Indian politics.
