Panaji: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday flagged off a tempo carrying one lakh letters addressed to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, highlighting public grievances over Goa’s poor road conditions.
The letters, signed by families across the state as part of AAP’s “BJP Che Burak” campaign, were collected over several weeks to draw attention to the deteriorating condition of roads. Kejriwal, who was on the final day of his three-day Goa visit, launched the dispatch from the party’s Panaji office in the presence of senior leaders including Delhi’s Leader of Opposition Atishi Marlena, Goa AAP President Amit Palekar, and AAP MLAs Venzy Viegas and Cruz Silva.
Speaking to reporters, Kejriwal said his visit confirmed that Goa’s roads are among the worst he has seen. “I had heard people complain about potholes, but now I’ve seen it myself. On the first day of my visit, I reached an event one-and-a-half hours late because I had to take a longer route to avoid damaged roads,” he said.
He added that one lakh families — nearly one-third of Goa’s households — have signed letters demanding urgent repair and maintenance of roads. The letters will be formally submitted to Chief Minister Sawant by AAP leaders.
Kejriwal asserted that the initiative reflects the growing frustration among Goans over the state government’s inaction on basic infrastructure issues.
