DABOLIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrived in Goa on Friday to a rousing reception from party leaders and volunteers, signalling the party’s growing presence ahead of upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections.
Addressing the media, Kejriwal launched a sharp attack on both the BJP and Congress, asserting that the two parties have failed the people of Goa over the past 13 years. “For 13 years, BJP has ruled Goa with Congress’ support. What have they delivered besides Gundaraj, unemployment, broken roads, illegal constructions, and violence?” he asked.
Referencing the recent attack on Rama Kankonkar, Kejriwal said it reflected the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. “Those who raise their voices against the government are being silenced. Goans are living in fear,” he added.
Kejriwal highlighted issues including rising unemployment, crimes against women, and poor civic infrastructure, positioning AAP as the only party capable of delivering solutions. “Congress and BJP have failed to provide basic amenities like safe roads, uninterrupted water supply, affordable electricity, and citizen security. Only AAP gives people hope,” he said.
Concluding his remarks, Kejriwal expressed confidence that AAP would form the government in 2027, aiming to capitalise on the electorate’s disillusionment with the traditional parties. His visit saw supporters waving slogans and holding posters, reflecting the party’s growing connect with Goans.
