PANAJI: A 40-year-old man from Kerala was found dead in a hotel room in Panaji on Tuesday evening.
According to police, a call was received from the Panaji Police Control Room around 8:47 pm, informing that a person was lying motionless in Room No. 101 of a hotel in the city. PSI Saheen Shetye and staff visited the site, where the man, identified as Asker Pandarathil, son of Hamza Pandarathil, a resident of Chembra, Tanalur, Malappuram, Kerala, was found lying on the bed in a supine position.
An EMRI 108 ambulance team, already at the spot, declared him dead. Police conducted a scene panchanama and the body was shifted to GMC Morgue for preservation.
Panaji Police have registered an Unnatural Death case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. Further enquiry is underway.
