CANACONA: The on-call physician pronounced a patient who had been transported to CHC-Canacona with respiratory issues dead.
Pramod, a 50-year-old Kerala native, was taken from his home by 108 ambulance to the casualty department, according to Canacona Police.
The deceased had been residing in Chaudi and was originally from Malappuram, Melmuri in Kerala. According to the authorities, the on-duty physician pronounced him dead after he was taken to CHC with respiratory difficulties.
The body was sent for a post-mortem examination by the police following an inquest Panchnama.
“Intracranial hemorrhage due to a ruptured basilar and posterior communicating artery in a person with chronic pancreatitis and ischemic heart disease due to occlusive coronary arteries” was the confirmed cause of death by the police surgeon who conducted the autopsy.
According to the police, the death was reported as an unnatural death under Section 194 of the BNSS 2023, and the body was given to the family for funeral rites. The additional investigation is being carried out by PSI Babu Dessai of the Canacona Police Station.
