Goa police nabbed a Karnataka native for cheating a Curca resident to the tune of Rs 7,600 by creating a fake Facebook account of another girl from Curca. The accused, 20-year-old Kedar Hawal was arrested from Khanapur in Karnataka. Kedar allegedly created fake Facebook account of the girl from Curca and used the fake profile to induce one Chandesh Sawant from Curca to transfer money to the tune of Rs 7,600 into his account through Google pay and PhonePe apps. Acting upon the complaint of the mother of the girl whose fake Facebook profile was created, cybercrime cell traced the accused to Karnataka. Complaint has been filed against the accused under Section 66 D of IT Act and 419,420 of IPC
