The 30th Vardhapan Diwas of Khapreshwar Saunsthan, Baina, was celebrated with great fervour and religious enthusiasm on Friday, drawing hundreds of devotees from Vasco and neighbouring areas to the historic temple.
The day-long celebrations began early in the morning with special poojas and religious rituals conducted by temple priests, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere at the shrine. Devotees queued up in large numbers to seek the blessings of Dev Khapreshwar, marking the milestone anniversary of the Saunsthan.
A highlight of the celebrations was the mahaprasad, which witnessed an overwhelming response, with hundreds of devotees partaking in it throughout the afternoon. Volunteers and committee members worked tirelessly to ensure smooth arrangements and orderly distribution of mahaprasad.
MLAs Sankalp Amonkar and Krishna Salkar paid their attendance at the function and offered prayers at the temple. Several local leaders, elected representatives, and prominent citizens were also present, lending further significance to the occasion.
Members of the Khapreshwar Saunsthan committee said the 30th Vardhapan Diwas held special importance as it marked three decades of the temple’s organised religious and social activities in Baina. They said the Saunsthan has continued to remain a centre of faith, tradition and community bonding over the years.
Devotees appreciated the arrangements made by the committee, including crowd management, cleanliness and the overall conduct of the religious programmes. Many families attended the celebrations together, underlining the strong emotional and cultural connect that residents share with the temple.
The Vardhapan Diwas celebrations will continue over the next few days with various cultural and religious programmes, including bhajans and special poojas, aimed at strengthening spiritual values and community harmony.
The Khapreshwar Saunsthan committee appealed to devotees to participate in the ongoing programmes and seek the blessings of Dev Khapreshwar, while maintaining discipline and the sanctity of the temple premises.
