PORVORIM: With one day Goa Assembly session on Monday, Porvorim Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte on Friday has written to Speaker Rajesh Patnekar urging him to highlight only the most urgent issues.
The MLA also says that this session should not be an excuse for the government to shirk responsibility on the hardships being faced by the people of Goa.
“As strongly put forward by my colleagues in the Business Advisory Committee Meeting is seconded by me, in view of the Assembly Session being curtailed to one day, we need to understand that only key issues of the State need to be given utmost precedence, such as the re-structuring of the budget, management of the Covid-19 Pandemic, economy revival, inflated electricity bills.” The letter written by Khaunte mentions
Further, it also states that, “Most importantly environmental impact of approving project through the Mollem National Park and Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary which is likely to affect day to day functioning of Goa and Goans.”
Meanwhile, Independent MLA Khaunte has also urged the speaker to make him a part of the system for Business Advisory wherein decisions can be made more effective.
