Panaji: Porvorim has welcomed a significant addition to its community infrastructure with the inauguration of “Khelangan,” a dynamic space dedicated to sports, wellness, and recreational activities. This new facility promises to enhance local opportunities for physical activity and social engagement.
Khelangan boasts a range of specialized sports amenities including a futsal ground, a badminton court, and a cricket training centre, providing diverse options for athletes and enthusiasts of all ages. Additionally, the facility features a designated recreational area tailored to the needs of senior citizens, encouraging inclusive participation across generations. The inauguration ceremony in Porvorim drew notable figures such as Tourism Minister and MLA Rohan A. Khaunte, who led the event. Alongside him were Zilla Panchayat member Kavita G. Naik, Sarpanchs Swapnil Chodankar and Sonia S. Pednekar, as well as Panchayat members representing the communities of Socorro, Penha de Franca, and Salvador do Mundo. The occasion was further enlivened by the participation of local residents, reflecting strong community support and anticipation for the benefits Khelangan will bring.
