PANAJI: Asmita Khelo India Women’s Wushu League was organised by Association of Goa Wushu under the guidance of secretary Paulo Killman Fernandes at Indoor Stadium, Campal, Panaji, recently.
Players from different parts of Goa participated in Sanshou sparring and Taolu routine in the two-day event.
Overall trophies were taken away by Government HS, Juna Bazar, Ponda, St Ann’s High School, Tivim, Shree Ganesh HSS, Mapusa, and Kuo Shu Kungfu Academy.
The main guest and dignitaries were Asha Arondekar, Chairperson of Women’s Wing, GCCI (Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industries); Siddhi Prabhu, Councillor of Municipality, Sakhali; Dr Aparna Belgaonkar (Goa Medical College); Niyati Chimulkar (Vice-President of Association of Goa Wushu); Kajal Bagkar (office of MLA Delilah Lobo); Pritam Naik (panch member of village panchayat, Assonora); Ujwala Wadkar and Shivani Nagvekar.
Asha Arondekar and Siddhi Prabhu congratulated all players, spoke words of encouragement and wished the players of Goa to be seen as champions of tomorrow.
