Bengaluru: The Indian Racing Festival (IRF), India’s leading city-based motorsport league, just received a major celebrity boost as Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeepa officially announced the launch of his racing team — Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru (KKB) — after acquiring the Bengaluru franchise.
Merging the thrill of motorsport with the glamour of cinema, this development marks a powerful crossover that promises to inject both energy and emotion into India’s racing scene. The move also places Sudeepa — one of South India’s most iconic actors — at the forefront of a sporting revolution, adding a new chapter to his already illustrious career.
The 2025 season of the Indian Racing Festival is set to kick off this August, featuring five adrenaline-pumping rounds across city circuits and professional tracks. Franchise teams from Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Goa, Kolkata, and other major cities will compete in what is shaping up to be the most high-octane season yet. Combining regional pride, entertainment, and emerging motorsport talent, IRF positions itself as India’s first true sports-entertainment spectacle.
Known for his magnetic on-screen presence and massive pan-India fan following, Sudeepa’s involvement is expected to galvanize support for motorsport in Karnataka and beyond. His films have shattered box office records and cultural barriers — and now, the same star power is being channeled onto the racetrack.
“This isn’t just another sports team — it’s a reflection of emotion, drive, and identity,” said Sudeepa at the team launch.
“Racing, much like cinema, thrives on timing, instinct, and passion. Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru is my ode to the spirit of Bengaluru — its talent, resilience, and youth. Motorsport in India is ready for its moment in the sun, and I want to be a part of that journey — to ignite that fire from the South.”
The introduction of KKB under Sudeepa’s leadership is expected to amplify fan engagement and regional pride, with the team set to represent not just a city, but a cultural ethos rooted in ambition and bold expression.
Akhilesh Reddy, Chairman & Managing Director of Racing Promotions Pvt. Ltd (RPPL), the organisers of the Indian Racing Festival, welcomed the move with enthusiasm.
“The entry of a legend like Kichcha Sudeepa into IRF is a defining moment,” said Reddy.
“His name carries weight — not just as a film icon, but as a cultural ambassador. With KKB, we now have a team that reflects the soul of South India — grounded, driven, and deeply passionate. This is the kind of energy motorsport in India has been waiting for.”
With Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru joining the grid, the stage is now set for a blockbuster 2025 Indian Racing Festival, where horsepower meets star power, and speed meets spectacle.
Get ready — Bengaluru is racing into the future.
