PANAJI: The Goa Police have registered a serious case of kidnapping and sexual assault against a man identified as Chaman Ram, a native of Jharkhand, following a complaint filed by a local woman (name withheld for legal reasons).
The complaint alleges that the accused kidnapped the complainant’s minor daughter from her lawful custody in Kirbhat, Nuvem, on November 18, 2025, at approximately 3:30 PM.
Allegations Detail Kidnap and Assault Across States
According to the official complaint, the accused, Chaman Ram, not only allegedly kidnapped the minor but also allegedly had sexual intercourse with her for an extended period, from the time of the kidnapping until the morning of December 7, 2025, at 8:00 AM, in Mumbai.
The complainant further stated that the accused took away the victim’s mobile phone before abandoning her in Mumbai, where she was eventually located by her mother.
Investigation Underway
The case has been registered and further investigation has been entrusted to LPSI Sonal Gaonkar of the [Motorcycle Patrol Squad, MCPS / or another relevant police station based on local knowledge, assumed to be a specific Police Station related to Women’s/Child Safety.
Police are reportedly probing the circumstances of the kidnapping, the travel across state lines from Goa to Mumbai, and the subsequent acts detailed in the complaint. The accused, Chaman Ram, is now the subject of a manhunt in connection with this grave offence.
