SANGUEM: Sanguem Police have launched a search operation and registered a case of kidnapping after a minor girl went missing near the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Sanguem on the morning of April 19, 2025.
The girl, a native of Gumla, Jharkhand, had been staying with the complainant in a village in Sanguem taluka. She was last seen around 9:15 am on Saturday, after which she left the premises without the knowledge of her guardian.
In response to the incident, police have filed an offence under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with applicable provisions of the Goa Children’s Act, 2003. The accused in the case remains unidentified at this stage.
To aid the investigation, police have circulated the girl’s details and description through wireless communication channels across Goa and to neighbouring states, in hopes of securing leads about her whereabouts.
PSI Krishnadeep Borkar of Sanguem Police Station is leading the investigation. Authorities have appealed to the public for any information that may help trace the missing girl.
