PONDA: In a horrific accident on the Ponda-Panjim Highway, Bike rider Sandeep Narayan Parabkar (40) resident of Curti and native of Kolhapur, Maharashtra, died in a fatal accident at Farmagudi, near Reema Transport.
The accident took place at around 8.45 am at Farmagudi today involving three vehicles.
According to Ponda PI Vijaykumar Chodankar, the bike and Wagnor car were proceeding towards Panjim while the tanker was coming towards Ponda.
Primary investigation revealed that the bike rider dashed the Wagnar car ahead of him while trying to overtake and fell on the road, after which the rare wheel of a water tanker coming towards Ponda from Panjajim hit the rider’s head.
The helmet worn by the rider broke into pieces. The injured driver shifted to SDH Ponda, where the doctor declared him dead.
The tanker driver tried to avoid the accident but finally dashed to a roadside tree. Ponda Police conducted Panchanama.
