PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Friday announced that clearing a Konkani language paper will now be mandatory for all candidates applying for government jobs in Goa.
He said that earlier, multiple exams were required for recruitment, but the process has now been simplified into a single online examination. However, Dr. Sawant clarified that even candidates holding a 15-year Goa residence certificate will not be eligible for employment if they fail to pass the Konkani paper, underscoring the government’s commitment to promoting the state’s official language and cultural identity.
