MARGAO: The Margao police have detained a resident of Hubballi, Karnataka, in relation to a theft charge that was filed by Arthur D’Silva.
Arthur claimed in his complaint that Devidas Gosavi, the accused, who lives close to Old Station Road in Margao but is originally from Hubli, Karnataka, broke into the building where the complainant’s daughter lives and took items worth Rs 2,50,000, including shoes, a vacuum cleaner, and a drilling machine, all of which were stored outside the main door by the elevator.
The accused allegedly went to a scrapyard next to Old Station Road after conducting the theft and sold the stolen goods to an unidentified customer seated at the counter.
In violation of Section 317(2) of the BNS 2023, the unidentified individual accepted the articles despite knowing they were stolen.
