Vasco: A special bus service of Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) was launched on Thursday to facilitate students travelling from Vasco to the Cujira–Bambolim complex.
The service was flagged off by Transport Minister and Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho. The bus service has been introduced mainly for the benefit of students studying at S. S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics.
As per the schedule, the bus will depart from Vasco at 7:15 am, while the return service will leave Cujira–Bambolim at 1:00 pm. The initiative aims to provide relief to students who were facing difficulties in commuting daily to the college.
Speaking on the occasion, Godinho said the bus service was a long-pending demand from parents from Assoi and Dongrim, who had raised concerns about the hardships faced by their children while travelling for studies. He expressed satisfaction that the issue could be resolved quickly.
The minister also thanked KTC officials, including Andrew and the team, for taking swift action to make the service operational within a short time.
Meanwhile, parents and students from Matve in Dabolim have also demanded a similar bus service. Godinho assured that the request would be addressed at the earliest to further support students in the constituency.
