Panaji: In a response to a question tabled by MLA Viresh Borkar, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho informed the Goa Legislative Assembly that the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) currently operates a fleet of 141 electric buses (EVs), covering 75 routes across the state. The fleet comprises 48 EV AC buses from M/s PMI Electro Mobility Solutions and 93 AC e-buses from M/s Olectra Greentech Ltd.
The Minister clarified that KTCL does not maintain an inventory of spare parts for these EV buses. Instead, M/s Vyagrah City Bus Operation Pvt. Ltd. and M/s Evey Trans Pvt. Ltd. are responsible for procurement, stocking, and maintenance under a Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model.
All repairs and maintenance activities for the EV buses are handled by these operators. Therefore, KTCL does not bear any repair costs, nor are these costs tracked by the corporation.
Warranty claims are also managed and settled by the operating agencies under the contract agreements. The department noted that there is no delay in processing claims, and no claims are currently pending.
Godinho confirmed that no formal Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model or MoU exists beyond the GCC agreements for the procurement or maintenance of the EV buses.
