VASCO: On Monday, Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) Felicitated Driver Shekar Bhat for driving the KTC bus for 20 years without a single accident.
Bhat was Felicitated at the hands of Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar in the presence of KTCL Vice Chairman Kritesh Gaonkar, General Manager Sanjay Ghate and others.
Speaking to the media, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar said that driver Shekar Bhat had got national recognition as an accident-free driver.
“It is a matter of pride that Kadamba buses which are our lifeline, are being recognised at the National level due to the achievement by Shekar Bhat. Kadamba has always provided great service to Goans, and the drivers usually don’t even get leaves on various festivals,” he said.
The drivers have already given their best service to people even during Covid times, and when a driver gets national recognition, it deserves a good felicitation from our side as well, said Salkar

“I appeal to all the drivers to get inspired by Bhat and follow his footsteps so that KTCL can continue to offer even better service to its passengers dependent on this transport system connecting to all locations across the state. Our department drivers are all good, but the achievement of Shekar Bhat has made the department proud,” said Gaonkar.
Driver Shekar Bhat advised other drivers to drive the buses without head tension or mental stress.
“We have so many passengers in the buses, mostly who trust us and are confident they will safely reach their destination. We need to take care of our passengers and avoid alcohol while driving. We also need to take good care of the buses and load fuel properly from time to time,” he said.
“We also need to check the lights, wiper, brakes and horns because the proper working of such important parts in a house is directly related to our safety and that of the passengers,” Bhat added.
