PANAJI: Kyan Mavany and Adianta Devaraya secured their spots in the Boys Under 18 singles final at the Bandodkar Panjim Gymkhana Tennis Open 2026 following strong semifinal performances at the Panjim Gymkhana courts.
Kyan delivered a steady display to defeat Arsh Sardesai 4 to 1, 4 to 3 in a closely contested semifinal encounter. Adianta Devaraya also produced a commanding performance, overcoming Ethan Luis De Ataide 4 to 1, 4 to 1 to book his place in the championship match.
In the Girls Under 14 singles category, Bhaavya Bhoomkar and Tvisha Sardesai advanced to the final after convincing victories in their semifinal matches. Bhaavya defeated Analeah Pearl Menezes 4 to 1, 4 to 1, while Tvisha secured a comfortable 4 to 1, 4 to 0 win over Urvi Pai Panandiker.
The Girls Under 18 singles category featured quarterfinal action with several players progressing to the next round. Tithee Bhoomkar recorded a dominant 6 to 1 victory against Renee De Menezes, while Avni Lotlikar edged past Ammiel Fernandes 6 to 4. Bhaavya Bhoomkar continued her strong run in the competition with a 6 to 3 win over Analeah Pearl Menezes, and Tvisha Sardesai advanced after defeating Kimberly D’sa 6 to 1.
In the Men’s Open singles round of 64, Sameer Kakodkar registered a comfortable 6 to 1 win over Pankaj Nanoskar, while Kishor Metry defeated Basavaraj Akandappa Chalavadi 6 to 2 to move ahead in the tournament.
The Ladies Open singles round of 32 also witnessed competitive encounters. Janavi Sawadia edged past Rhea Mendes 7 to 5 in a closely fought match, Renee De Menezes defeated Ruhika Panda 6 to 1, Archana Desai recorded a 6 to 4 win against Stuti Shetty, and Devyani Desai overcame Tatiana Malkarnekar 6 to 2.
In the Men’s Open doubles category, Rehaan Díaz and Prajat Halankar progressed with a 6 to 3 victory over Shrish Lohiya and Chaitanya S Rao in the round of 32. Anurag Agrawal and Santosh moved into the next stage with a dominant 6 to 0 win against Naveen Daivajna and Neville Menezes in the round of 16.
The Mixed Open doubles round of 16 produced several convincing wins. Debayan Das and Tomoyo Fujita defeated Aymer Fernandes and Ammiel Fernandes 6 to 1, while Siddharth Nunes and Aishwarya Nunes beat Pankaj Nanoskar and Anjali Anna Philip by the same margin. Sreenath and Tanya Shelyazhynska Caldeira recorded a 6 to 0 victory over Chiraag Sukerkar and Nataliia Lazurenko, while Vladyslava and Suraj Pombra overcame Gaurish Naik and Katyayani Gaurish Naik 6 to 2. Neale Fernandes and Raisa Menezes defeated Raju Kundaikar and Archana Desai 6 to 3, and Prithvi Naik with Atika Gaur advanced after a 6 to 4 win over Anindita Sarwate and Lyndon J. Pinto.
The Bandodkar Panjim Gymkhana Tennis Open 2026, a state level ranking tournament, continues to attract participants across age groups while honouring the legacy of Goa’s first Chief Minister Dayanand Bandodkar.
