SALIGAO: The Saligao Police have registered an Unnatural Death (U.D.) case No. 15/2025 under Section 194 of the BNSS after a 42-year-old labourer from West Bengal collapsed while at work in Sangolda and was later declared dead at Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.
According to police, the information was received via a wireless message from PI, Mapusa Police Station, based on a communication from the Casualty Department, GMC Bambolim, stating that the patient, Satya Ranjan Sarkar (42), son of Gour Sarkar, resident of Ashokgram, Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal, and bearing MLC No. 25/8755, was declared dead on October 7, 2025.
During the enquiry, Mr. Rooseveld De Lourdes informed police that he had employed the deceased for labour work at Sangolda, where the deceased suddenly felt uneasy and was immediately shifted to GMC, where doctors declared him dead.
Preliminary investigation indicates that no foul play is suspected in the death. The body has been preserved for post-mortem examination, and further enquiry is being carried out by PSI Akshay Faterpekar of Saligao Police Station.
