In a recently held program, Canacona MLA and deputy speaker Isidore Fernandes distributed Ladli Lakshmi sanction letters to the beneficiaries in the taluka.
While distributing the sanction letters, Fernandes said that the scheme envisaged by former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar had brought smiles on the faces of poor people.
While speaking at the Ladli Lakshmi sanction letters to the beneficiaries, Fernandes remembered the former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar and showered praises on his intelligence in administring Goa and his love for the poor which made him tailor-make some of the best schemes for the upliftment of the poor people of the state.
The present chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant is carrying forward these schemes in spite of the state facing financial strains due to loss in revenue due to the Covid-19 pandemic for the last one and half years, Fernandes informed.
In the same breath, he thanked Dr Pramod Sawant for sanctioning the funds for Ladli Lakshmi beneficiaries in Canacona taluka to the tune of Rs one crore seventy lakh towards the Ladli Lakshmi scheme.
All the women who had applied and had submitted their marriage certificates have received the sanction letters. At the same time, the other applicants will soon get their letter after the budget is passed in the assembly.
Clarifying his entry into the BJP, Isidore Fernandes said that after joining the present party, he was able to do a lot of work under the leadership of Dr Pramod Sawant. Besides completing a lot of development work, Isidore said that the government has given monetary aid to many people who have suffered economically due to the pandemic.
Also, motorbike pilots, bus drivers and conductors, rickshaw drivers and small business people in the taluka have been assisted by the BJP government.
