PANAJI: Land grab accused Suleman Khan alias Siddiqui, who is implicated in several criminal cases, has been brought back to Goa from Delhi police custody in connection with a forgery case. Khan remains in judicial custody.
Last month, Khan had been transferred to Delhi under tight security for proceedings related to the forgery case.
Police records indicate that four land grabbing cases are currently registered against him in Goa. Across Goa, Delhi, and Hyderabad, he faces at least eight cases, including charges of murder, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy, and land grabbing.
Khan is also under investigation for allegedly escaping custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in December 2024 while under arrest in a land grab case; he was re-arrested two weeks later in Hubballi, Karnataka.
The SIT has described Khan as a “hardened criminal”, while he is simultaneously challenging his arrest through a criminal writ petition in the Bombay High Court at Goa, alleging that the arrest was politically motivated to divert attention from major state issues.
