PANAJI: On the last day of nomination filing for the February 14 polls, AAP Chief Ministerial candidate Adv Amit Palekar was among those candidates who filed their nominations.
“I won’t let St. Cruz down. I won’t let AAP down. I won’t let the people of Goa down.” said Amit Palekar.
Further, Mahesh Bhandari filed his nomination as TMC Dabolim Candidate, Filipe Neri Rodrigues also filed his nomination as NCP ahead from Velim and will lock horns with BJP’S Journalist turned politician Savio Rodrigues and TMC’s Velim candidate Benjamin Silva.
Also, Mickky Pacheco quit Congress after ticket denial filed his nomination from Benaulim as an NCP candidate. Aldona Heavyweight Adv Carlos Ferreira filed his nomination as a Congress candidate and will contest against BJP’s sitting MLA Glenn Ticlo.
BJP ST Cruz Candidate and sitting candidate Antonio Fernandes also filed his nomination and will take on Congress candidate Rudolf Fernandes and AAP’s CM Candidate Amit Palekar.
In Mapusa, Congress Candidate Sudhir Kandolkar filed his nomination will contest opposite BJP’s Joshua Dsouza.
Further, Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) Supremo Manoj Parab also filed his candidature from Valpoi and Thivim constituency. Mahadev Khandekar also filed his nomination as MGP candidate from the Sankhali constituency and will be taken on CM Pramod Sawant and Shiv Sena’s Adv Sagar Dhargalkar.
In Saligao, Congress Candidate Kedar Naik filed his nomination and will take on sitting MLA Jayesh Salgaoncar. Also, TMC’ Mormugao Candidate Jayesh Shetgaonkar also filed his nomination.
Also, TMC St Cruz Candidate Victor Gonsalves filed his nomination, and Calangute TMC CandidateAnthony Menezes filed his nomination ahead of Goa Assembly Elections.
In Porvorim, Congress Candidate Vikas Prabhu also filed his nomination. Shiv Sena’s Jitesh Kamat also filed his nomination. Benaulim TMC Candidate Tony Dias also filed his nomination for TMC candidate.
In Pernem, Jitendra Gaonkar filed his nomination from the Pernem constituency, while Uday Salkar filed his nomination from the Thivim constituency.
On the first day, two BJP candidates, power minister Nilesh Cabral and former art and culture minister Govind Gaude filed their nominations to contest Curchorem and Priol, respectively. Independent candidate Digvijit Chavan filed his nomination from Navelim.
On Monday, MGP candidate Naresh Sawal filed his nomination for Bicholim, BJP candidate Nilkant Halarnkar for Mapusa, BJP candidate Rohan Khaunte for Porvorim, Pooja Mayekar as independent for Aldona, MGP candidate Pandurang ‘Deepak’ Dhavalikar for Priol, MGP candidate Ketan Bhatikar for Ponda and BJP candidate Subhash Shirodkar for Shiroda.
MGP candidate Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar filed his nomination for Madkai constituency, Congress candidate Sankalp Amonkar for Mormugao, BJP candidate and transport minister Mauvin Godinho for Dabolim, Vishal Gajanan Naik as independent for Cortalim, Ajay Raju Boyer as independent for Curchorem, and former deputy speaker Isidore Fernandes as independent for Canacona
The last date for filing nomination papers is January 28. The scrutiny of the applications will take place on January 29. Withdrawal of nominations, if any, by the candidates will take place on January 31. The elections for 40 constituencies are scheduled on February 14.
