PANAJI: In a thrilling display of table tennis prowess, Chandan Caro and Ishita Colaso have cemented their positions as top contenders at the Late Manohar Sawkar Goa State Table Tennis Championship 2024-25. Chandan Caro, with his unwavering dominance, has secured spots in two finals, setting up intense matchups against Ruhaan Shaikh in the Boys U13 category and Rishan Shaikh in the Boys U15 category. Meanwhile, Ishita Colaso is on the verge of a double triumph, preparing to face Aarna Lotlikar in the U13 Girls final and Neeza Kamat in the U15 Girls final.
The championship, meticulously organized by the North Goa District Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Goa Table Tennis Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, has been a spectacle of high-level competition at the Peddem Sports Complex. On Day 2, the venue witnessed some of the most gripping matches, highlighting the exceptional skills of the young athletes.
Chandan Caro’s journey to the finals was marked by a nail-biting 3-2 victory over Yug Prabhu in the Boys U13 semifinals, while Ruhaan Shaikh effortlessly defeated Dhruva Kamat 3-0. In the Boys U15 division, Chandan’s 3-2 win over Dhruva Kamat and Rishan Shaikh’s 3-1 triumph over Atharv Dhupalkar have set the stage for an exciting final.
In the Girls categories, Ishita Colaso demonstrated her prowess by defeating Aayushi Amonkar 3-1 in the U13 semifinals and dominating Sanisha Sinha 3-0 in the U15 semifinals. Aarna Lotlikar secured her place in the U13 Girls final with a dramatic 3-2 win over Samaira Verlekar, while Neeza Kamat advanced to the U15 Girls final by beating Pradnya Caro 3-1.
