PONDA: Claiming there is strong resentment against Sudin Dhavlikar, who made people helpless instead of self-reliant, Congress candidate Lavu Mamledar assured to expose the scams of former PWD Minister.
Congress Party Candidate for Marcaim and former MLA Lavu Mamlatdar addressing to media today said after he was declared as Congress Candidate for Marcaim, he is getting strong support from voters in Marcaim constituency.
Lavu said he would expose scams of former PWD Minister and added that during the past 25 years, only one person and former PWD Minister Sudin Dhavlikar is representing the constituency, but he failed in the upliftment of his voters. No other Bahujan youth is getting a chance to contest from Marcaim.
Mamledar further said, “Sudin Dhavlikar was planning for family raj and dynasty politics in Marcaim and was preparing to field his son to contest on MGP ticket, but after my decision to contest from Marcaim, Sudin scrapped his plan to field son.”
Mamledar said that hundreds of people stand in queues at Dhavlikars house every day asking for financial help. This shows Dhavlikar made the people depend entirely on him instead of being self-reliant in their lives.
“I wanted to contest against Dhavlikar and had joined TMC for that, but after its alliance with MGP, I left TMC. I joined Congress Party because I wanted to give justice to Bahujans suffering at Marcaim. He said Sudin ruined politics at Marcaim and Goa with the help of the BJP,” he said.
He said he has the spirit to fight against injustice. He alleged the Dhavlikar brothers never wanted party growth because they wanted their family raj in the party.
Lavu said on 23 March 2019, he was removed from MGP for voicing against the Dhavlikar brothers, and since then, people in Goa have been unhappy.
He said there is no scope for BJP in Marcaim due to anti-incumbency against inflation, corruption, unemployment, and failure to start. Mamledar said Congress Party has around 9000 votes. Last LS Election South Goa Congress MP Francis Sardhin got around 9000 votes in Marcaim.
Later, Congress Workers from Marcaim said the voters were under political pressure. Four to five members of selected houses are given government jobs while many poor people are without any employment.
