PANAJI: According to Director General of Police (DGP) Alok Kumar, crime and law and order have stayed under control during the past year, with the detection percentage of crimes reaching 88.38%.
Speaking on Police Raising Day, he stated that 154 cases were filed under the NDPS Act during that time, resulting in the arrest of 178 offenders. Additionally, 255 kg of consolidated drugs of about Rs nine crore were confiscated, the greatest amount of drugs ever seized by Goa Police.
According to him, 4,91,796 cases of traffic violations under the Motor Vehicles Act have been filed, and Rs 29,28,12,450 in fines have been collected.
According to him, different enforcement campaigns and instructional initiatives were carried out for different groups of road users, educating 36,805 pupils and 43,736 drivers.
“Our cyber cell has been further strengthened to deal with the growing menace of Cyber Crime,” he added, stating that cybercrime is a big threat to the growing digitalization and e-commerce. Our Cyber Crime Police Station has arrested 38 suspects and resolved 15 cases.
