Panaji: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis led the state in paying rich tributes to former Chief Minister of Goa, late Ravi S. Naik, at a condolence meet organized by the Government of Goa at Kala Academy, Campal, Panaji.
Union Minister of State for Power Shripad Naik, Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar, Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, and Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade also joined in offering floral tributes to the departed leader.
Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji, senior government officials, and members of the public were present at the solemn gathering to honour Naik’s decades-long contribution to the state’s political and social landscape.
Ravi S. Naik, who served as Chief Minister and also held key portfolios including Agriculture, Handicrafts, and Civil Supplies, was remembered for his leadership, simplicity, and dedication to public welfare.
Speakers at the event recalled his pivotal role in strengthening Goa’s cooperative sector and rural development initiatives, describing him as a statesman who worked tirelessly for the progress of the state and the upliftment of its people.
