PANAJI: Manohar Parrikar School of Law, Governance and Public Policy in collaboration with D.D.Kosambi School of Social Sciences and Behavioural Studies, Goa University organized the inaugural lecture of the distinguished lecture series as part of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chair in Leadership and Governance.
The inaugural lecture of this lecture series titled International Leadership and Governance: Ensuring Responsible Conduct in Peacekeeping Missions was delivered by Dr. Andras Hars, Ludovika University, Budapest-Hungary on 30th August 2024 at Conference Hall, Goa University from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.
The inaugural lecture was delivered in the presence of Professor Rajendra S. Gad, Dean, Manohar Parrikar School of Law, Governance and Public Policy, Professor Ganesha Somayaji, Dean, D.D Kosambi School of Social Sciences and Behavioural Studies, Professor Koshy Tharakan, Dean School of Sanskrit, Philosophy and Indic Studies, Goa University.
In the keynote address, Dr. Andras Hars emphasized that the legacy of Chhatrapati Maharaj can be emulated by United Nations Peacekeeping Operations in the realm of self-rule, civil administration that serves the people, conduct during armed conflict and protection of women during military operations.
Dr. Hars also highlighted the best practices and encouraging examples which have been adopted to overcome sexual exploitation and abuse in peacekeeping operations.
The lecture series is being coordinated by Ms. Vaibhavi Rane, Assistant Professor, MPSLGPP.
