Panaji: Legal Titans secured a spot in the semifinals of the Advocates Cricket League 2025-26 T20 tournament after ending United Brothers’ winning streak with a commanding performance on Monday at Chicalim, Vasco. After a shaky start to the league, losing their first three matches, the Titans bounced back with two comprehensive victories, advancing to the semifinals thanks to a superior net run rate.
Winning the toss, Legal Titans chose to bowl first and restricted United Brothers to 156 for 7 in 20 overs. Shaumik Angle led the United Brothers’ innings with 32 runs, while Dattaraj Gawas and Dattaraj Parab added 27 runs each. For Legal Titans, Satchit Mauskar and Pravin Gawas claimed two wickets apiece, keeping the opposition in check.
Chasing 157 for victory, the Titans produced a clinical batting display. Openers Satyam Ghogale and Satchit Mauskar put on a 109-run partnership, with Ghogale striking 65 off 42 balls, including four fours and four sixes, and Mauskar contributing 42 off 32 balls. The lower order remained steady, as captain Pravin Gawas remained unbeaten on 32 and Kanhaiya added 8 not out to guide the team home in 16.1 overs, winning by eight wickets with 23 balls to spare. The emphatic win also eliminated Risers from semifinal contention.
The semifinals are scheduled for January 9, 2026, at the GCA Ground, Porvorim, with United Brothers facing Legal Titans in the first match. The second semifinal will see 18 Juners take on Lawyer Challengers later the same day.
