TUEM: A Leopard attacked and killed a pet dog at Bhom Wada, Tuem.
As per the information, the dog was attacked while it was tied to a chain outside the house.
Residents of Pernem Taluka have been on edge lately due to an increase in the frequency of leopard sightings in the area.
There are rumours that the large cats are killing dogs and cows, which has the community worried for their safety as well as the safety of their animals.
A few days ago, residents of Deulwada Palyem were alarmed and took quick action after seeing a leopard in the area.
The local Panch Shiva Tilve promptly notified the forest department of the sighting, which prompted the forest officials to erect a cage nearby.
