HARMAL: A one-year-old leopard was captured in a forest department trap early this morning around 3 am at Harmal Nanoskar Wada. The forest department confirmed the capture, reassuring the public that the animal was unharmed and is in stable condition.
Officials from the forest department stated that the leopard would undergo a thorough medical examination to ensure its health and well-being before being released back into its natural habitat within the sanctuary area.
However, the release will only take place after obtaining the necessary permissions from the Chief Wildlife Warden.
The forest department emphasized the importance of these measures in ensuring the safety of both wildlife and the local residents. “The capture was conducted with the utmost care for the animal’s well-being, and we are closely monitoring the situation to facilitate its safe return to the wild,” a spokesperson said.
The department’s actions highlight the delicate balance between preserving wildlife and maintaining safety in regions where animals and human populations coexist. The situation will continue to be monitored until the leopard is safely returned to its natural environment.
